Mystic Mountains Ski Hire is specifically located to cater to the equipment needs of visitors to Lake Mountain, but cross-country skiers destined for other resorts are welcome too. We hire quality Classic Nordic Skis for adults and children. For those who don't wish to ski, we also hire toboggans. And of course, warm and waterproof clothing and après-ski boots to keep your feet warm and dry. We carry a large range of accessories for sale. |
Mystic Mountains Ski Hire utilises the latest technology to assure healthy, dry, smell-free rental boots. Our skis are hot waxed every Monday and are also waxed between hires during the week. So you can be assured of getting the very most out of the skis you hire from us.When you return your clothing and equipment, you are welcome to sit back and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee while watching a DVD of the world's best nordic skiiers or maybe an instructional video to inspire you for your next trip. A nice pleasant break before tackling the drive home.

We are situated just minutes beyond the Black Spur, on the left side of the highway, in the heart of the Mystic Mountains area in Narbethong. (Watch for our signs. ) Our huge carpark will make your stop at Mystic Mountains quick and easy.
We open at 7 am on weekends and public holidays, and at 7.30 am on weekdays for those who wish to make an early start. We close at 6.30 at night for those who like to stay on the mountain until dark, or those who want to grab a bite to eat in Marysville on the way back. If you are driving through on Friday night and wish to hire your skis for the weekend, phone or email us and let us know your expected arrival time. We will stay open for you within reason.
How to get from
Mystic Mountains Ski Hire
in Narbethong to Lake Mountain
Leaving the car park of Mystic Mountains Ski Hire, turn left onto the Maroondah Hwy. Travel for about 250 metres and turn right to Marysville on the C512. Follow this road for approximately 10 kms. Sometimes you may encounter snow on Mt Gordon. Chains are generally not required here, but drive slowly if there is snow on the road. At the second roundabout in Marysville turn right towards Lake Mountain. Travel for another 10 km before turning left to Lake Mountain as directed by the sign post. When you reach the resort gate you will need to pay an entrance fee of $27 per car. On most week days, and before about 10am on weekends you may be able to travel right up to Gerraty’s carpark. If not, you will need to park as directed at Snowy Hill or Arnold Gap carparks and catch the free shuttle bus to Gerratys and the resort centre.
